Abstract
The shapes of the cuspate forelands formed at the end of multiple sandy islands were investigated, taking seven islands in Korea, Japan, and Russia as examples. When two sandy islands are located successively, the cuspate foreland formed at the end of one island deforms while being subjected to the wave-sheltering effect of the other island. In this study, the BG model (a model for predicting three-dimensional beach changes based on Bagnold's concept) was used to predict the topographic changes when waves were incident randomly to the two islands in the downward and upward directions, and the interaction and merging of the cuspate forelands formed at the end of multiple sandy islands were investigated.References
