CROSS-SHORE SEDIMENT TRANSPORT: A FIELD TEST OF THE BAILARD ENERGETICS MODEL. (1998). Coastal Engineering Proceedings, 1(26). https://doi.org/10.9753/icce.v26.%p

Abstract

This paper reports on the results from a field test of the Bailard energetics sediment transport model. Model predictions agreed well with observed and measured volumetric change in the inner surf zone under erosional as well as accretionary conditions, occurring over a 72 h long storm event. The observed formation of a nearshore bar was reproduced by the model; bar formation was predicted to be due to a sediment transport convergence generated by seaward directed undertow and landward directed incident wave asymmetry.
